A Martinsburg showroom with 31 years behind it

Mountaineer Kitchens & Baths has handled kitchen remodeling in Martinsburg, WV and across the Eastern Panhandle since 1995. You start in a 5,000 sq. ft. showroom on Rock Cliff Drive, where you can open cabinet doors, compare countertops and stand at real vanities. Then the in-house team builds it.

The firm leans on American-made cabinetry from makers such as KraftMaid. Its project write-ups list each door style and finish, like a Muted Moss and Wicker two-tone kitchen in Martinsburg or a load-bearing wall moved four feet in Harpers Ferry.

Reviewers praise the guidance through layouts and selections, and the clear communication.

Kitchen Remodeling

Full tear-outs, wall removals and layout changes, carried out by Mountaineer's own team. In Harpers Ferry, the Jackson kitchen gained an open plan when a load-bearing wall moved four feet on two LVL beams. It was finished with Woodhaven Shaker cabinets and Calacatta Arno quartz.

Cabinets and Countertops

Choose semi-custom or traditional cabinetry in the showroom, with brands like KraftMaid and Brighton Cabinetry. Counters come in quartz, stone, wood, solid surface, laminate or concrete. In Falling Waters, the Wiggins kitchen paired Shortbread maple base cabinets with wood accents.

Bathroom Remodels

Primary baths, guest baths and powder rooms, planned around your budget, timeline and style. The team handles layout changes, new windows, closets and knee walls. A Charles Town family came back after their kitchen to have the bath gutted and rebuilt.

Custom Tile Showers

Showers are built on Schluter pans and wrapped in Kerdi waterproofing membrane before any tile goes up. In Harpers Ferry, the Reap master bath got a 72-inch curbless shower in 12x24 tile, two niches and Ditra-Heat floor heating with a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

New Construction Kitchens and Baths

Building a new home? Mountaineer draws the floor plan for the new kitchen or bath and installs the cabinets, fixtures and lighting. Kitchen styles range from traditional and Craftsman to cottage, Mediterranean, transitional and modern, all on view in the showroom.

Why Eastern Panhandle families choose Mountaineer

01

See it before you buy it

The 5,000 sq. ft. showroom on Rock Cliff Drive is the only one of its kind in the area. You can open the cabinets and feel the countertops before you decide.

02

Our own crew installs

Every project is handled in-house from start to finish. That includes demo, plumbing changes, drywall, trim and hardware, with no hand-off to strangers halfway through.

03

American-made materials

Cabinetry and materials on every job are American-made. Recent kitchens used all-plywood boxes and soft-close hardware from lines such as KraftMaid and Woodhaven.

A team that has stayed

Owner Ben DeOms has worked alongside most of the crew for five, ten or more years. Google reviewers name Brandon and Eric for patient, careful design guidance.

From summer job at 16 to owner

Ben DeOms first walked into Mountaineer Kitchens & Baths at 16. He worked summers, evenings and weekends through high school and learned the trade beside skilled craftsmen.

He eventually took over the business, which has served Martinsburg for more than 31 years. Ben says he wants to keep the quality and integrity the previous owners built, with American-made materials on every job.

Under his ownership the company opened its new showroom and is taking on more higher-end projects. Project manager Buck Day, sales and design lead Brandon Cooley, salesman Patrick Carter and office manager Heidi Shank round out the team.

Martinsburg kitchen and bath questions

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

The whole process of planning, designing, ordering, scheduling and installing can take 3 to 6 months. Most of that time comes before work begins. Once the project starts, a typical Mountaineer kitchen remodel takes about 2 to 3 weeks. Material choices, the size of the job and its complexity all affect the timing.

When can I visit the showroom?

The showroom at 1950 Rock Cliff Dr in Martinsburg is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Saturday and Sunday visits are by appointment only, which helps if you cannot get there during the workday. Call (304) 267-6262 to set a time, or just stop in during the week for ideas.

Do you do all the work yourselves?

Yes. Mountaineer's in-house team handles every project from start to finish. On recent kitchens that meant demolition, plumbing changes for a new stove, vent ducting, drywall, cabinet installation, trim, toe-kicks and hardware. On one Harpers Ferry kitchen it also meant the engineering coordination for a load-bearing wall.

How do you keep a shower from leaking?

Recent showers are built on Schluter shower pans, with Kerdi waterproofing membrane on the walls before tile goes up. The Reap master bath in Harpers Ferry used a 72-inch Schluter pan with a curbless entry. The Dagg shower in Charles Town used the same system, plus a built-in bench and dual niches.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. Mountaineer offers financing through Acorn for customers who would rather not pay the full cost up front. Ask about it when you visit the showroom or call (304) 267-6262. Terms and approval come from the lender, so the team can point you to the application while you plan your kitchen or bath.
